Starting in Vancouver, the idea behind the caravan is to meet up with other CORSA Chapters as we travel down I-5. We anticipate we will have a very large group of Corvairs by the time we reach Flagstaff.
A note from Joel: Communicating between so many cars can be made much easier with FRS radios. These radios are available in many forms, and we encourage participants to bring at least one with them. They are available with one feature in particular that will make life much easier for the caravan. Cheaper models are available with 14 channels and NO SUB CHANNELS. These versions are difficult to use in larger city centres due to the large amount of interference. To be truly useable the versions worth having come with 14 channels and 38 sub-channels or "interference eliminator tones". Below are two links to the least expensive models available from Motorola and Cobra that still have the 38 sub-channels. From personal experience I can also relate that they
are extremely handy for situations like the National Convention as their two
mile range will easily reach the hotel or across the grounds if you are
trying to locate friends or family. - Joel Rushworth ( Click the photo to go to the manufacturers' site )
